The Team

Barry Phillips -
Managing Director

Started his working career in the EPoS industry back when electronic cash registers were still relatively new technology. Went on to work within the IT and communications industry before becoming the UK ICT director for a French owned company with turnover in excess of £100m. Realising that there was a gap in the market to offer full solutions to businesses who required EPoS with full IT support, telecommunications and general commerce systems, Barry talked his ideas through with the rest of the team and Orb Technik was conceived. Barry gets heavily involved with all of our IT, Communications and Data Security business.

John Heron - Senior Technical Manager
John maybe small in stature, but is vast in knowledge and experience. Starting his career in a programming environment, he has now spent in excess of 17 years in the Cash Register and EPoS trade, John has gained a huge knowledge of programming and repair techniques associated with Sharp & Casio. John leaves no stone unturned when looking for a solution to any problem.

Mark Clabrough - Senior Technical Manager
Born & bred in Wales but an avid Manchester City fan, Mark has been in the EPoS industry all of his working life and spent many years working for a National Company looking after EPoS and EFTPoS (Electronic Funds Transfer Point  of Sale - i.e. credit card machines) for many large chain retail sites.

Chris Hartley - Service Manager
If it's broken, Chris will fix it!  Our resident electronics engineer and service Manager, Chris is the voice you will hear most when you call into our service centre. Spending some 25 years in the trade, he has seen possibly every problem that can occur in a cash register, he can strip down and re-assemble a printer with his eyes shut.
